Overview
What's New in SHU?
22 September 2025: Sheffield Hallam University 2026 UG fee is released. The cost for BA Product Design & BA Business and Marketing is £18,000/year (₹21.38 lakh) for international students.
Sheffield Hallam University (SHU), established in 1843, is one of the UK’s largest and most diverse public research universities. It is located in the student-friendly and affordable city of Sheffield, England. With a student population of 32,000+ across more than 270 programs, SHU attracts students from over 100 countries. The university maintains an acceptance rate of around 43%.
Ranked within the #1001–1200 band in QS 2026, SHU is globally recognized, with particular strength in Hospitality and Leisure Management, where it ranks among the Top 100 worldwide. As per Collegedunia Statistics, most Indian students enroll in MSc International Business Management, MSc Automation Control and Robotics, MSc Big Data Analytics among other top courses at SHU.
SHU offers affordable study and living options for international, as well as the Indian students. Annual tuition fees range between 11.5 to 40.8 lakhs INR (9,700 to 34,450 GBP) depending on the program, while living expenses average around 1.9 lakhs INR per month (1,600 GBP). The university further eases the financial burden through notable scholarships such as the Transform Together Scholarship (50% tuition waiver), the GREAT Scholarship and fully funded schemes like the Chevening Scholarship and Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme (CSSS).
Regional / National Accreditation
Sheffield Hallam University is a UK-based university, so its "regional and national accreditation" is based on UK standards. It is recognized by the UK government and national bodies, with its degrees validated by the university itself and regulated by the Office for Students (OfS). It does not hold "regional accreditation" in the same way that US institutions do because the UK has a national system of quality assurance for higher education instead of a regional one.
Professional Accreditation
Sheffield Hallam University's courses receive professional accreditation on a course-by-course basis from various professional bodies, which is an extra layer of official recognition for a degree. Examples include the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the British Psychological Society, which have accredited the Quantity Surveying and Psychology degrees, respectively. This accreditation is granted by independent professional organizations, not by the university itself.
