| Regional / National Accreditation
The University of Derby is a nationally recognized and government-approved public university in the UK, not requiring a separate "regional" or "national" accreditation in the US sense. In the UK, the authority to award degrees is granted by the government (specifically the Privy Council) based on a review process, and institutions cannot call themselves a "university" without meeting these stringent guidelines. The quality and standards are maintained through a system of quality assurance, with reviews conducted by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), a government-appointed agency. The University of Derby is officially recognised by the UK government and is accredited by the QAA. |
|
Professional Accreditation
The University of Derby is accredited by the UK Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) and is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). Its Business School also holds accreditations from professional bodies including CIMA, ACCA, and CIM. Many of its courses, particularly online ones, are developed in collaboration with professional bodies and industry partners, and the university offers more professionally accredited online courses than any other provider in the UK. |
