| Regional / National Accreditation
The University of Exeter has national recognition and standing as a public university that received its royal charter in 1955. It does not have a single "national accreditation" in the US sense, as the UK uses a different system of quality assurance and specific program accreditations. Key points regarding its accreditation and standing: • Public University & Royal Charter: As a public university established by royal charter, its degrees are nationally recognized and held to high standards set by the UK's quality assurance framework. • Russell Group Member: Exeter is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of research-intensive UK universities, which signifies its standing as a leading institution in the country. • Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) Gold Rating: The university has achieved a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework, a national assessment of teaching quality in UK higher education. • Specialized Accreditations: Many specific programs and departments hold accreditations from relevant professional, statutory, and regulatory bodies (PSRBs) in the UK and internationally. For example: o Business School: The University of Exeter Business School holds the elite "triple crown" accreditation from the three largest and most influential global bodies: AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA. This status is held by fewer than 1% of business schools worldwide. o Professional Bodies: Specific courses have accreditations or provide pathways to exemptions from professional bodies such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), and others. |

Professional Accreditation
The University of Exeter has professional accreditations for its programs and departments, including a triple accreditation (EQUIS, AACSB, AMBA) for its Business School, which is a distinction held by fewer than 1% of business schools globally. Additionally, the university has a corporate affiliation with the Institute of Science and Technology (IST) and a particular Psychology BSc is accredited by the British Psychological Society. The School of Education also offers a formal "Thinking School" accreditation for schools. |
