Regional / National Accreditation
The University of Glasgow holds national recognition and standing as one of the four ancient universities of Scotland, founded in 1451, rather than a specific "regional" or "national" accreditation body in the US sense. UK universities operate within a different quality assurance framework.

In the UK, universities are self-accrediting bodies with degree-awarding powers granted by royal charter (or an act of Parliament). The quality and standards of UK higher education are maintained through a national framework overseen by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), which is an independent body that reviews and reports on the standards and quality in UK higher education.
Professional Accreditation
The University of Glasgow has numerous professional accreditations across different schools and programs, with its Adam Smith Business School holding the "triple crown" of accreditations (AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA). Additionally, various programs are accredited by professional bodies like the Engineering Council, CILIP, and the ARA, providing benefits such as fast-tracking professional status and exemptions from professional exams.
